There are many benefits to being a small business. However, the downside can be the perception that there is less trust, respect and security for the customer. As a small business owner you will have to work harder to gain and maintain these things than large business. For a small business to flourish you can’t leave anything to chance. You need to manage EVERY aspect of your image.

Faith in companies has been shaken. More than ever, your customer is going to want to be reassured that you will be there and profitable for the long term. People want to be around others that are successful and confident. If you believe in what you do, have a clear authentic message and conduct yourself with inner confidence and integrity, you will then be perceived as someone or a business that is attractive and trustworthy.
Some practical ways for business owners to transform their business image
As a business owner, decide why an image change is needed. Is it because the wrong market is being attracted? Is it because the business focus has changed and therefore the ‘Brand’ has changed? Or is the current image dated? When considering a change of business image, determine what the desired image is to be. As ‘you’ are an important part of the business, start with ‘you’, and then look at the tools and environment.
